Types of Ration cards issued by the Uttar Pradesh government


  1. Below Poverty Level Card/BPL card
  2. Above Poverty Level Card/APL card
  3. Antyodaya Anna Yojana Card/AAY card
  4. Annapurna Yojana Card/AY card

BPL Card – is issued to Uttar Pradesh natives with an annual income of less than INR 10000. The essential commodities provided to the cardholder on this ration card basis come at a highly subsidised price.

APL Card – is issued to Uttar Pradesh native people with an annual income above INR 10000. This type of ratio card does not entitle the cardholders to any subsidies.

AAY Card – is issued to the poorest UP natives and the subsidies and scheme that would be available on this ration card is different.

AY Card – is issued to UP natives over an age of 65-years. AY cards are usually issued to people whose conditions meet certain pre-set conditions.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for a Ration Card in Agra

  • Applicant should not possess any ration card
  • Applicant should be a native of Agra (Uttar Pradesh)
  • Applicant should possess a temporary ration card or an expired card

Procedure to Apply Ration Card Offline in Agra (UP)

  • Step 1: Visit the nearest CSC center(Common Service Center)
  • Step 2: place your request with the staff
  • Step3: collect the application form provided by the staff and then fill in the form with requested details
  • Step 4: attach the documents as requested on the form
  • Step 5: Submit the application form and documents to the staff and collect the receipt provided by the staff.
  •  Step 6: The ration card can be collected within one month of application.

PS: without submitting the receipt the ration card cannot be acquired.

Procedure to Apply Ration Card Online in Agra (UP)

Currently, the online method for application of ration card is unavailable. However, the option will be soon updated and the citizens can apply for ration cards. Here is the step by step procedure of how to for apply ration card online in Uttar Pradesh.

  • Step 1: Visit the official FCS website or click here instead
  • Step 2: On the home screen you will find the option “New Registration”, select this option.


  • Step 3: Now on the new page enter all the details as requested and complete the process. The server will now send an OTP and PASSWORD to your mobile number entered during this process


  • Step 4: Login the official website using this OTP and PASSWORD
  • Step 5: Fill in the online application form as requested on the form and click submit button
  • Step 6: Now the page will display an acknowledgment with a temporary ration card number.
  • Step 7: Save this temporary number as it will help you to get the ration from the ration card store and you can also track your application status via this temporary ration card number.
